Serum Irisin In Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Prediabetes in Duhok City

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the most common chronic metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia, with either lack insulin secretion or decreased sensitivity to effects. Prediabetes an intermediate stage between normal glucose metabolism and high prevalence rate developments. We aimed in this study evaluate serum irisin level among patients type individuals prediabetes. A cross-sectional was done on 214 participants, who were attend Azadi Teaching Hospital, Diabetic unit at Duhok city October 2021 April 2022. The participants classified three groups; 94 mellitus, 60 prediabetic apparently healthy control. collected blood samples morning after overnight fasting from all participants. All parameters measured cobas 6000 (Hitachi, Roche) including glucose, insulin, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol HbA1c% except that ELISA instrument. Serum levels lower diabetic compared control (P<0.001). There a negative relation poor glycemic atherogenic indices, positive -c. found circulating controls.
